He works with early-stage ventures around the world as an advisor at Y Combinator’s Startup School, the Flux Accelerator, the Kiwibank FinTech Accelerator, and as an Ambassador for the Startup Genome project.”
Katharina Wichmann from EY will be sharing the findings from the recent survey they undertook in conjunction with, MBIE and InsurTechNZ, to map the InsurTech landscape in New Zealand. They will be exploring the key trends, level of innovation and challenges facing the sector.
Goodwill, brand recognition and intellectual property, are some of a business’s most important assets. Their intangible nature makes them difficult to value and harder to leverage; so how do we protect them in the changing technology landscape?
Joining the speaker line-up Avani Vyas of Delta Insurance will be discussing how to strategically manage intellectual property, as well as sharing insights into risk management from an insurance perspective.
Avani will then join the panel discussion with Francis Milner, Chief Investment Officer at EverEdge Global, and Nick Valentine, Special Counsel at DLA Piper, on how to identify, evaluate, and manage and monetise intangible assets. Nick is an expert in Cybersecurity and acts for the largest bank in Australia as well as other financial service providers in New Zealand. Nick will share insights into the legal view of intellectual property.
