It has been a busy start to my new role as FinTechNZ’s general manager. Our membership continues to grow and I now welcome you to our first monthly newsletter. Our incredible growth reflects the rapid pace at which technology is transforming the financial sector. Already I have engaged with emerging companies like identity platform Tradle who use Blockchain for KYC. I have also met new members like health insurer NIB to discuss the launch of Frankie, New Zealand’s first artificial intelligent health insurance consultant.
Recently, FinTechNZ signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Singapore FinTech Association and we are working towards expanding our international footprint with other like minded organisations. To achieve this we are working closely with NZTE, Callaghan Innovation and Xero to formulate the NZ Inc Tech story.
I look forward to meeting you and fellow members at our spring event series. If you haven’t already received an invitation, it is being held soon in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. It is an excellent opportunity to create valuable business connections.
In other FinTech related news, Auckland soon hosts Finnotec 2017. This event brings together FinTech thought leaders and speakers from New Zealand and overseas to discuss the future of FinTech. Also in November, Singapore holds its second annual FinTech Festival. Check out their week long agenda of activities and events, including their flagship conference. We are also hosting a delegation to Singapore which will include networking events and a formal gathering at the High Commissioner’s residence. Please contact me directly if you would like to join us.
