InsurTechNZ October Update

#

Jason Roberts, Co-chair of FinTechNZ’s largest Working Group, InsurTechNZ shares an update on the group’s latest activities:

Another busy month has flown by for the InsurTechNZ leadership team, having recently finalised the Working Group Charter, which will be posted on the FinTechNZ website shortly. Defining our purpose has been an important job for a group less than a year old, which is now formally:

“To enable collaborative innovation in insurance to provide positive customer outcomes”

The charter also formalises our mandate and working group structure, with the addition of new Special Interest Groups including Funding, Distribution and Consumer Experience. If you would like to become involved, please contact me directly.

InsurTech October Event: Customer Engagement in the Digital Age

This month’s event Customer Engagement in the Digital Age focused on the impact of AI/Digital Assistants and Omni Channel delivery when dealing with customers. We received quality presentations from IBM, IP Soft, Quadient and FaceMe (pictured).

It’s really quite exciting to see how new technologies are opening the door for better customer engagement experiences, providing diversity of engagement, and most importantly creating back-end operational efficiencies so critical to insurers in an increasingly competitive market.

Join us for our next event in Wellington 31 October and Auckland 1 November, where we will be sharing the initial findings from the InsurTech landscape survey; a joint project between InsurTechNZ, EY and MBIE. Early indications from survey data clearly shows important market developments that will be of interest to all parties across the FinTech and InsurTech sectors.

Thanks,

Jason Roberts, Chair, InsurTechNZ
