TIN’s 2024 Fintech Report Launch
Learn why fintech is NZ’s fastest growing tech sector.
The 2024 Fintech Report will be a comprehensive dashboard for NZ’s fastest growing tech subsector. In 2023, fintech became New Zealand’s largest tech subsector by total revenue earned. Homegrown fintech firms achieved combined revenue of $2.8B in 2023, ahead of healthtech ($2.6B) and appliances ($2.0B). At current growth rates, TIN forecasts the NZ fintech subsector will achieve revenues of $7.7B by 2028.
Our inaugural Fintech Insights Report in 2022 quantified the economic impact of the sector; showed what success looks like; and set a benchmark to measure the sector against. The report has been exceptionally well received by government, investors and sector representatives, with hundreds of downloads from TIN’s website – more than 600 reports have been downloaded so far since the launch in April 2022.
With NZ poised to introduce Consumer Data Right and Open Banking legislation, it is time to take a deeper look at how fintech and its affiliated sectors are shifting NZ’s economic centre of gravity.
